Solaris x86 Campaign Preamble

Okay folks, this is real. If you ever had a complaint about the way Sun is handling Solaris x86 or you've ever really felt burned by Sun's attitude towards the Sol x86 product/martket then NOW IS THE TIME to make your position known!

This is not some attempt to get everyone to complain for the sake of complaining.

This is REAL. Dan Gordon forwarded a "rant" from the http://www.eGroups.com/list/solarisonintel list to Scott McNealy and he got it. He read it and was concerned. He put one of his right hand guys on the task of finding out more. This guy called Dan (since he was the one who forwarded the mail to Scott).

They want to talk and hear more. We have the ears of the TOP at Sun.

Now, we can point them at a few more sorted emails from the list, of conversations about Sol x86 how-to's, with rants mixed in. Or we can point them at a collection of detailed and thought out points about how this community feels and what they'd like done about it.

Please add some info on why you are unhappy with the way Sun is handling Sol x86. Discuss laptops, video drivers, developer support, marketing, ANYTHING that burns you up about this. You should also feel free to let Sun know what you think they are doing right.

If we don't take advantage of this they might just blow this off as "one guy who is just upset". Help them to understand just how many servers this effects. How many customers this matters for.

If you've ever complained that "no one up high in Sun listens to the real world" then now you can get exactly that to happen. It's time to "put our money where our mouth is".
