[s-x86] Re: Solaris CD

I ordered Solaris 7 (personal license) on a Monday two weeks ago and
received it the following Saturday (6 days later).  Sorry about the trouble
you all are having but I have no complaints...other than the fact that
Solaris' X server doesn't support my Diamond Viper V550 Ultra Graphics Card
(only one of the most popular cards on the market).  So I will enjoy my
Solaris 7...at 640*480 and 16 colors - on a graphics card that costs $100+.
Oh well they are not perfect...yet.  Remember they make their bread and
butter selling $20,000 workstations and servers that costs well over this.
They are working on being better to the bottom feeders (us), we will just
have to be patient.

Join the club, I've been having a heck of a time getting anything from
them.  I did the web thing, got nothing, called, was promised the
11/99 MU, didn't get that, called, promised the 11/99, didn't get
it, finally after the 3rd time, they sent 8/99, I called and queried
about 11/99, they said they'd ship it, got a call the next day from
someone saying that 11/99 didn't exist for the Intel platform.  Finally
convinced them that it does exist, then told that it doesn't exist for
contract customers but if you want to buy it you can get it.  Turns
out the 11/99 for contract customers is just the OS, none of the
extra goodies (which I already got with 8/99)  If you ask me, Sun
by it's service is becoming the biggest advertiser of Linux
