You probably need one another patch. I had the same problem under 
Solaris 7. After installing MU3 there was no Permedia 2 in kdmconfig.
I had to install some extra patch contained in special_patches.

I remeber I answered similar question to yours on this list before.
Now, can't check it since moved to Solaris 8. BTW it supports 
Permedia 2.
