Actually there are some header file changes from Solaris 7 to Solaris 8 and
probably with earlier versions as well. We always compile a version with
the correct header files for that version, just to be sure.
However, there is a fair chance a binary will work between 2.6, 7, or 8.
The changes for DDX modules, which is generally what is in a patch, are very
minor. Note that some patches involve more than just a DDX module being
changed, check to see what files are in any patch before trying it and save
your old files!
