[s-x86] 8bit, 16bit 24 or 32bit

Hello i am using a solaris 2.6 with a trident tgui 9440 PCI video card,
during the installation the assistance recognized my video card and
allowed me to choose the video resolution from 640X480 256, 800X600 256
and 1024X768 256, the resolutions works but only under 256 colors.

Do you know how to resolv this?, I only need a 16bit interface.
