[s-x86] Solaris 7 install write sector errors from gen-ata code 0x3

Greetings;
I've struggled all weekend with this. Trying to install Solaris 7 11/99
on a couple of different systems and I'm consistently getting the
following errors:

WARNING: /pc-@0,0/pcie-id-@f/at-@0/cmd-@0,0(disk 0)
error for command 'write sector' error level: informational
sense key: aborted command
vendor 'gen-ata' error code 0x3

error filesytem creation failed for /c0d0s0

I've tried both an Asus p5a-x with P200 or K6-3/400 CPUs, and a
Gigabyte GA-5AX motherboard / same CPUs, blank hard drives (either a
WDC 8.4 Gig or an IBM 15 Gig), 3com 3c905b, Trident video card from the
video pick-list -- the video test program worked like a champ --
>nothing< I do enables Solaris any configuration I've tried.

I had a minor success trying the whole setup in an old DFI systemboard
which actually went through the install process, then died while
booting complaining that it couldn't mount any of the file systems.

To prove to myself that I wasn't in a hardware problem, I installed NT,
everyting worked; wiped the drive and installed Linux, everything
worked .. first time.

Thanks!
