[s-x86] floppy disk problems

I can't access the floppy drive in Solaris 8 early access, the drive
works, I can boot off of it, and I used it to install Solaris. But,
when ever I select "open floppy" from the file menu in the file
manager, nothing happens, i also can't access it from the console. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
