You're conflating Itanium (64-bit processors) and IA-32 (32-bit processors).
They're not the same thing. Sun is only knocking Itanium. Sun hasn't
said anything against the older IA-32 processors. In fact, Sun has been
selling x86 plug-in boards for its workstations for years. Sun also sells
or gives away software for for various Windows releases running on 32-bit
IA-32 compatible platforms (e.g., Staroffice for Windows, Forte Jave
for Windows, etc).
